An avid Death Valley and Amargosa Valley
hiker and historian, Judy has been enjoying the
desert for many years. Judy retired from
Stanford University School of Medicine in 2000
where she had worked as a pediatrician in the
field of pediatric pulmonary medicine and in
the delivery of primary care services to
uninsured children from the mobile clinic.
Presently she does volunteer work for the Death
Valley National Park Curatorial Facility and at
the Shoshone Museum. She has authored
several articles about Death Valley women and
a booklet about the history of the cemetery in
Shoshone.
